Are we being Gouged at pumps?

According to the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives we are…..

The Centre was spun out of Carleton back in the 80’s, and thus the school had all of their ‘monitor’ magazines, so I read a lot of their research for ‘alternative views’ to my own university ‘neo-con’ or michael bliss leanings, they usually were a good source for the opposite (read: lefty) views. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out in the main stream media.

On another note: why do we use the term gouged instead of just over charged? When this story hits the main press tomorrow I guarantee we’ll see at least one headline or report using the word “Gouged.” The synonyms for gauging are a lot more evil than just plain old over-charging.

They include: extort or swindle.
