MySpace shuts down SingleStat.us

 MySpace sent a cease and decist order to SingleStat.us. Essentially SingleStat.us let you know the relationship status of people on MySpace….  abit desperate – but thats another discussion.

With all the heat MySpace has been getting by the media for Predators this doesn't come as a major surpris. Third Parties making mashups of something like this could only lead to more issues down the road. Surpisingly, DatingAnyone what could be considered a competitor in this voyeristic space (slight, bad pun intended), is still in business. 

Probably not for long mind you. Maybe, the social Networking Sites are now being forced to reconcile protecting their communities with also being open about them.
